Ford To Cut More Jobs In Germany, Spain, And UK

Ford plans additional job cuts in Germany, Spain, and the UK, the head of the worker's council in Germany for the US automaker told Reuters.

Benjamin Gruschka, head of the works council at Ford's Cologne plant, said the exact number of additional job cuts in Germany remains unclear.

A decision is expected by the end of June.

The company has already completed half of a previous restructuring plan to cut 2,300 jobs in Germany and reduce the workforce to 13,000.

Last year, Ford announced plans to cut 3,800 jobs in Europe as it transitions to electric vehicle production, which requires fewer employees.

Additionally, Ford revealed last week that it plans to cut up to 1,600 more jobs at its assembly plant in Valencia, Spain, as part of the ongoing restructuring efforts.
